Man did not know how heavy the magnet was. Going to get a good work out. The gloves are thin and really ads no protection. The hook is small and seems weak. I will have to get a better longer rope. Yet the rope they give is a good starter till I get used to the heaviness of the magnet.

Have not had a chance to try out magnet, it appears be good quality. Hopefully will get chance try out when I get go magnet fishing, will then know the value of the magnet.... UPDATE...I got to try this magnet and honestly, I am not impressed. I have a Beast double sided 1,000lb and it feels stronger than this magnet. Maybe its just me, but as heavy as this magnet is, I thought it would be alot stronger, even my kids 1200lb double sided magnets feel stronger...but for the price, seems be a good starter magnet

I bought this as a gift for my nephew so I don’t have 1st hand knowledge. My nephew told me the he and his 11 yr old son are having fun using it. They fished from a bridge and while they have found nothing of value, (scrap metal and rebar), they are have a good time together. They also like the feeling that they are helping to clean up junk from the water way. He said the magnet is very powerful and the nylon rope is strong. He also liked that you can use the magnet as a double or single sided. Since it’s in a carrying case he leaves it in his truck so they can use whenever they see a good spot for “fishing”. He has no complaints and likes the excitement of seeing what you caught and he especially likes the bonding time with his son.

would be perfect just add 50 ft of rope with this heavy of magnet but of a lighter cord so that you have a choice of rope in the kit. i would pay the extra cost in a kit to have this
