Great kit the magnet is unreal put it on the manhole lid on garden and had to fetch crowbar to remove it. Hook should come in handy and the pair of ropes look strong would recommend.

Very strong magnet and comes with plenty of line and a grappling hook to help you retrieve things if necessary. Certainly lots of fun to play with. Make sure to check your local by-laws regarding bodies of water and your access to them.

Big solid magnet which does a great job of picking up even quite heavy objects from the bottom of the ocean! Haven't found any "treasure" yet, but has proven to be a lot of fun nonetheless!

Ever since i watched my first magnet fishing video 3 or 4 years ago i've been intrigued about the hobby & have wanted to give it a try myself ever since. So when i saw this magnet fishing set pop up i knew i had to give it a go. In this set you literally get everything you need to get you started in magnet fishing. There's the magnet which is claimed to have a 625kg pull strength. 1x Grapple hook, to help you pull out your treasures when you get them closer to the bank. 2x Ropes, 10m & 20m one's slightly thicker for the magnet. Pair of gloves to help protect your hands from the wet, muddy, rusty & potentially sharp treasures you may find. One of the things that's included that i hadn't even thought about before but is extremely important item in the set was a bottle of thread lock for attaching the loop onto the magnet itself, just bare in mind you will need a posi-drive screwdriver for tightening the screw & you will need to let it cure for around 6hours before being able to use the magnet. I also really liked that the ropes come pre-tied off with carabiner clips attached, i for one would definitely not of trusted my knots if i had to tie them off myself!!! Another thing that i thought was a really nice touch, was inside the booklet you get a catch logbook on the centre page where you can record, the items found, date & locations, as well as a little magnet bingo game on the back page too. Overall its a really good little set with everything needed you get you started in the hobby of magnet fishing. The only piece of gear your missing is a waterproof bag or case to store it all in when its not in use, but other than that it's an amazing little set & i've been really happy with it all so far.

The media could not be loaded. This was incredibly fun to do - a cross between angling and metal detecting! A couple of important things though - it is not legal to go magnet fishing in canals and rivers without permission from the landowner and the Canal and Rivers Trust explicitly says on its website that it doesn’t allow magnet fishing. So you do this in the UK at your own risk. Private property is a different matter, if you have permission. Secondly, the entertaining video in the item’s description shows the magnet, ropes, hook etc held in a carrying case so I was really disappointed that this set just comes in a cardboard box. I have knocked a star off for this. Having said that, I took my children to our local canal to have a go. Given the safety aspects of magnet fishing, I wouldn’t allow children to do this on their own. The ropes are quite long - see from my photograph of it being lowered from the canal bridge and there was plenty of rope left to get it to the bottom of the canal and hold onto the other end of the line safely. The hook is useful too - especially when you throw the whole of the magnet rope into the water by mistake and need to fish it out! The gloves are good quality - they won’t keep your hands dry but for handling tiny bits of iron etc that have stuck to the bottom of the magnet as well as picking up larger pieces of metal, they are perfect. This was such great fun - possibly the best thing I’ve been able to review through the Amazon Vine programme. It’s a great quality set - just do be careful of the legalities.
