This magnetic fishing kit is made of really good quality materials and I’m very happy to recommend it to all. I purchased it in order to try out magnetic fishing and perhaps for the retrieval of lost items. I always go for the biggest and best items in whatever I do if the funds allow. This magnet kit being quite a jump in price over the next cheaper one was a questionable purchase. However I went for it and after it arrived I only had to screw the metal ring to the centre of the magnet and it was ready to go. Time to try it out. The nearest large chunk of metal close to me was a floor-standing 15 ton hydraulic press. That will do I thought and I carefully placed the 120mm diameter magnet centrally onto one of the large metal feet of the press so as to get full contact. Well….. let’s see how strong this really is and what magnetic fishing is all about. So I stuck my fingers through the connection ring and pulled and boy did I pull, ….. didn’t budge, not one iota. Need a better grip on it I thought. So I unwrapped the rope and attached it to the ring and in order to use my full body strength I crouched and wrapped the rope around my shoulders, took up the slack and pulled, didn’t budge. I pulled so hard that the heavy press started to lift, granted only on the one side so I stopped, I didn’t want that toppling over. Had another go this time with my feet pressing either side of the magnet. Pulled again with all my might, didn’t budge. Christ I thought, how in hell am I going to get this thing off the press. Long story short I used a long pry bar and levered the magnet sidewards until well over half of its diameter was disconnected from the press. Got to say, I now have a greatly increased respect and admiration for this type of magnet. Just a word of warning though…... If while fishing you came across a large heavy item such as fridge or a large safe and it was extremely well stuck down there in the mud. If at the same time the magnet got a full contact on said item then there is going to be one hell of a tug of war and struggle to retrieve the expensive magnet. Works well but keep well away from metal structures near canal banks or magnet will stick to underside and you will not be able to get it off. Very strong

My son was very excited to get his parcel and dragged me out to use it. Put it together for him and he threw it in the water probably two or three times and it was gone! The magnet came straight off and was gone. The rope came apart the whole thing is a waste of money and I have one very upset boy who spent his birthday money on this item

Great bit of kit to have some fun with. Good size and strength for the smaller stuff so may want something a bit stronger on the magnetism if you want to go for the bigger stuff.

Après plusieurs lancés, on sent que bien que l'aimant s'accroche mais n'est pas assez puissant pour soulever l'objet, il fini par se décrocher pour finalement rester dans l'eau.... 😓

Imán muy resistente y parece de buen material, pero con un defecto en funcionalidad, al lanzarlo y posteriormente tirar de él, el imán no queda recto hacia al suelo, sino que lo vas arrastrando pero por la parte donde tiene el enganche, es decir, al revés, cuando tiras de la cuerda vas arrastrando el imam por la parte que no imanta, recomiendo uno de dos caras.
